Famous shoe brands – It’s not just a shoe, it’s a deep story

Famous shoe brands

Are you obsessed with shoes? If yes, how many pairs do you own and what the most expensive buy so far? Well, a hundred Dollar max? If you’re a shoe lover like I am, every new pair of shoes that adorns the feet of celebrities would leave you drooling with a yearning to own one someday. May be turn into Cinderella? Who knows one day a fairy turns over with a wand and your life transforms because of that one pretty crystal shoe? Ok so after a reality check and hours of endless scrolling through fashion magazines and online surfing, I have ended up with a list of my favorite posh shoe brands.

  • Miu Miu

Miuccia Prada, the brain behind this plush brand actually envisioned the name Miu Miu after her family’s nickname. While Prada, on one hand, offers designs that are urbane, graceful and minimalistic, Miu Miu is a complete opposite. The designs speak volumes about being loud, rebellious and free-spirited and there are people who instantly fall in love with its off-the-edge designs.

The brand was conceptualized with the theme of feminism, opulence and high-end fashion designs, something that wasn’t mainstream at all. Staying true to the nature of the brand was the marketing strategy and photographs that defined bold. One can still find this brand on famous celebrities even today.

  • Christian Louboutin

A Louboutin can be easily recognized when seen. The most interesting part about the designer himself is that he started off with designing shoes accidentally. After being expelled from school, Louboutin ended up doing numerous odd jobs. It was in the early 80s that he started working as a freelance shoe designer and then was no looking back.

Shortly after few years, he started off with his own label and came across the idea of red soles after noticing his assistant paint her nails red. It was this particular aspect of the design that garnered the attention of tons of fashionable women. On the downside, this brand is infamous for dangerously high heels. Despite being in a legal soup with YVS over red soles, Louboutin still remains to be one of the most expensive shoe brands.

  • Manolo Blahnik

A firm believer in the power of heels, Manolo Blahnik handcrafts the heels with an unchanged passion. What makes the shoes of this brand so popular and different from the rest is its authenticity and that these are customized and not factory-made. His shoe designing journey began in 1968 when he first met Vogue’s editor in chief, Diana Vreeland.

His first-ever shoe collection was showcased in 1971 and there was no looking back ever since. Courtesy his personal touch, his collections have adorned the red carpets, movies, and television shows and loved by one and all.

  • Jimmy Choo

Jimmy Choo is a footwear brand that needs no introduction. This brand has had some of the most elite client bases including Princess Diana and Carrie Bradshaw to name a few. Conceived by a Malaysian designer Choo Yeang Keat who belongs to a family of shoe designers, there was none in the family who made it this big.

It was his idea to design customized shoes whether they are sneakers or pumps. His designs have ever since been fascinating people around the globe because of his attention to detail and craftsmanship.

  • Walter Steiger

A Geneva based designer, Walter Steiger initiated his shoe brand in 1932 and designed them with unconventional materials resulting in wacky designs that were new even in that era. Walter Steiger Jr., his elder son took over the business and opened up a designer shoe boutique in 1974 in Paris which became a huge hit followed up with new stores in Milan, London, New York and more.

It was his conventional yet exceptional technique and superior quality material that has made it be the most sought after footwear brand among both men and women.

  • Alexander McQueen

Established 25 years ago, the unconventional designs made McQueen quite popular too soon. Beginning his career in Givenchy, he became the chief designer in no time. Soon after he got out and started off with his own brand bringing up designer shoes that were quirky yet so appealing.

It’s a common saying that if you have a taste similar to Lady Gaga, only then shall you connect with such eccentric garnishing. However, considering its hype, this brand can prove to be worth a hole in your pocket.

  • Brian Atwood

Brian Atwood started off his career being hired by Versace in Italy. And it was after his successful stint with Versace that he explored his craft further and established a brand under his own name in 2001 that was started off on a high note. Encouraged and praised by Versace for his designing skills, he gave shape to his ideology that footwear can be a true deal breaker and can either make or break the outfit. Considered to be one of the most sought after shoe brand, his brand has become a deal-breaker in the extravagance segment.

  • Stuart Weitzman

Starting off his career by designing shoes at his father’s shoe store, Stuart Weitzman continued designing shoes for the company that took over his father’s store after his demise for twenty years after finally taking over it in 1994. Soon, his shoes were seen on red carpets with the most popular and pricey at 3 million Dollars being the platinum ad diamond studded ones. It’s the exceptional materials that call for the making of the most expensive pair of shoes in the entire world.

  • Louis Vuitton

How could a list of posh shoe brad be complete without mentioning Louis Vuitton? Over 150 years old, the brand is a staple in the name of opulence and classy designs that speaks high of luxury and style. It’s not just the shoes that the brand is famous for. They have an elite collection of handbags, accessories and luggage bags to showcase.
